Ansel Easton Adams (February 20, 1902 – April 22, 1984) is probably the most well-known national park photographer of all time. His work is still highly valued today and his images continue to attract huge international interest whenever they come up for auction. In 1968, his images were featured on a series of posters created by the Department of the Interior and National Park Service.
Death Valley National Park, located in California and Nevada, is a vast desert landscape known for its extreme temperatures and stunning natural features. It encompasses salt flats, sand dunes, canyons, and unique rock formations, attracting visitors with its harsh yet captivating beauty.
One of the most fascinating things about these posters is the logo. The intertwined triangles and 3 dots served as the official logo of the National Park Service from 1966-1969, although it was not popular with visitors and the arrowhead returned.
As this poster hasn’t been in print for over 55 years, we had to go back to the drawing board and recreate them from scratch.
