Grand Canyon National Park Poster - Vintage WPA Design
Grand Canyon National Park Poster - Vintage WPA Design
Amid the turmoil following the 1929 Wall Street Crash and the Great Depression that ensued, Franklin D. Roosevelt's administration implemented programs to assist the countless Americans who had lost their jobs. One such program, The Works Progress Administration, and its subdivision - the Federal Arts Project - were devoted to enhancing infrastructure in national parks and crafting art that inspired the public to explore these natural wonders.
A series of 14 posters were produced for various parks and monuments, with the Grand Canyon National Park WPA poster emerging as a standout piece. Drawing inspiration from the majestic beauty of the Grand Canyon, this iconic poster showcases the park's awe-inspiring vistas and encourages viewers to experience the park firsthand. National Parks Partnership has carefully restored the black and white and color scans of the original poster, offering a version that closely resembles the colors and aesthetic of the initial artwork. This Grand Canyon National Park WPA poster is a stunning representation of one of America's most cherished natural landmarks and serves as a testament to the power of art in promoting the appreciation of our national treasures.

Such an iconic design. Happy to have it hanging in my office!
It looks good in the frame but the matte paper scuffs easily. Needs to be treated carefully.
